Telegram is one of the most famous and largest messengers. Its active audience already numbers over 700 million people. At the same time, it continues to grow rapidly: every day it registers up to 2 million new users. Telegram’s popularity is due to the fact that it works on all modern platforms, protects user data and receives regular updates from the developers.
Telegram Web features
Telegram provides not only communication (with friends, colleagues, etc.), but also a lot of useful content in the format of channels: entertainment, news, educational.
Telegram is more than just a messenger. It is a new type of information platform. But, of course, Telegram does an excellent job as a messaging app:
- send and receive text and voice messages (with the ability to convert one type to the other using bots),
- any files can be exchanged: the size limit per file is 2 GB (4 GB with a premium subscription),
- you can join groups of up to 200,000 people and create video chats for up to 1,000 viewers,
- thousands of ready-made emoji can be used in messages, in reactions and in statuses,
- if you use Telegram on multiple devices (for example, on your phone and PC), your data can be synchronized.
Telegram Web is a browser-based version of the messenger. It can be run from both mobile devices and desktops. You can try two new full-featured versions of Telegram WebK and WebZ – both support animated stickers, dark mode, chat folders and more.
Difference between the WebK and WebZ versions
The K-version and Z-version of Telegram’s web client are developed by different development teams. The company believes that this internal rivalry will allow them to create a better product. Both versions work in the browser on mobile devices and personal computers. Externally they are almost identical.
For comparison, you can see the lists of missing features, relative to the mobile version:
If you don’t want to miss out any features, download and install Telegram Desktop, the full version of the Telegram messenger.
Which browsers does Telegram Web support
The browser version of Telegram works with all popular browsers, including Google Chrome, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari.
How to launch Telegram Web
After you’ve decided which version of Telegram you want to launch: WebK or WebZ, click one of the following links, and the browser version will open in the next tab:
You can switch between versions at any time, or switch back to the old Web version altogether, but it has much reduced functionality.
You can use your phone number or QR code to sign in to your account.
In the first case, you will receive a 5-digit numeric code. It will not come in a text message, but in a message in the Telegram app installed on your computer or mobile device.
And if you choose the QR code – you will need to scan it with your phone camera.
